Q: Activity! Dream cast your current read.

It's hard to say who I'd want exactly for this book right now because I haven't been given a lot of detail on the look of each characters, but these are actors I picture currently.

Steven Strait as Derek- Mostly because of his eyes and hair. He'd make a cool Sary.

Ellen Page as Julia: Her look fits the character for me. She's somewhat protective and caring, but gives off a rebel and standoff-ish vibe.

Chloe Mortez as Marcy: She seems more innocent and is going through some issues currently. Plus, I just love Chloe Mortez.

Q: Summer Break is upon us! What would be the perfect vacation spot for you to catch up on your reading & relax?

-A:I love sun, so I'd say anywhere sunny enough to stay warm but shady enough for my face so it doesn't get extremely hot. Oh, and it needs an outlet to keep my iPod charged because I love having music play in the background as I read. Also it'd be an added bonus if this place had yummy foods. Seriously, yummy food is important for my happiness.

Q: What is one thing you wish you could tell your favorite author?

-I don't think there is one author I could choose to talk to. There are so many great writers out there that I'd want to say different things to. If I had the opportunity to meet and have a proper conversation with someone, I'd actually probably ask about characterization. I'm always fascinated how characters come to be and what the process is really like with different authors. Who did you all choose?

Q: Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then "broke up" with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.

A: Okay, I haven't completed the series, but the first person that came to mind for me was Brenna in Liz Reinhardt's Brenna Blixen series. She was awesome, witty and kickass...Then then Junk Miles (holy jeebus the arms...) happened and I wanted to bop her in the head until she stopped acting like a dummy. I hate when girl characters I admire start turning into people I shake my head at. However, I think she'll redeem herself in the last...I just need to read it. What about you all?

Edit: Wanted to clear up that this series is actually awesome! I love it even if I want to kick Brenna Blixen at times because the book makes me emotional for the characters. The series makes you care. So yes, it's a series to definitely check out!

Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

A: The upcoming movie release I'm so nervous about is The Host. I love that book more than Twilight, and with how much Twilight totally failed I'm really hoping it doesn't repeat itself. However, I'm kind of picky with movie adaptations because they're usually never as good as the book. What about you all?

Q: Do you read one book at a time or do you switch back and forth between two or more?

A: I really try to read two or more books at a time, but then I realize I get less done oddly. I think it's because I end up favoring a read and then want to finish that one instead. I wish I could do more books at a time. If I liked audio books it would help. Sadly, I can't get the hang of them though. What about you guys? How many do you all like to read and in what formats?

Q: What is the longest book you’ve read? What are your favorite 600+ page reads?

A: Hmm...I don't really keep track of my page count too often. The first fairly lengthy book that comes to mind is The Host by Mrs. Meyers(page count about 600 according to Amazon). I know I've read some long ones in school too,but I honestly can't think of any English novels. I don't know if it'd count here, but I've studied the Ramayana, an Indian holy book, and that is said to be around 1,500+ pages. What are all of your favorites?

Q: Activity!!! Take a picture or describe where you love to read the most…

A: This is my view from bed. I usually have television or music on as I read because I need to have a little noise around me. I'm also pretty much ALWAYS cold, so yay for cozy beds with warm blankets. Since I also enjoy watching soccer, this is me most weekends thanks to 4:45 a.m. Premier League games. What are your reading spots?

Q: What’s the most unique character name you’ve come across?

A: This may be a popular answer when Friday comes around, but I'd definitely say ANY of the names in the Hunger Games series. They were all different and cool at the same time, but it never felt like the author was trying too hard to be unique to me. Somehow the names just seemed to fit in that type of world. I actually don't care for characters to have unique names because it usually does feel like the author is trying too hard. HG was just one of those special circumstances where it worked. What about you guys?

Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?
Definitely 100's of mediocre ones. Reading one book forever would get boring! I think even if a book is only decent, you can still get something positive out of it. Even if I find a character annoying I tend to be able to dissect the character and see some good in them. I think most books have something to offer, so I'd be able to learn more through reading a number of decent books. What about all you guys?

Spread ❤, Not Hate & Follower Friday

I've been kind of lost on what to write about for this event for a while. I guess I've been one of the lucky ones since I haven't had too many issues when it comes to types of bullying. I was going to just do a positive message to share my support, but a few weeks ago I came across an event that hurt me deeply.

I made a friend recently who I've become close to rather quickly. One day my friend told me he had a story to share with me.  As if it were no big deal, he proceeded to tell me that on his way home while walking with a friend he was stopped by a group of guys who began mocking him for the clothes he was wearing and how he looked. As he tried to ignore them and walk away, one of the strangers picked up a glass bottle off the street and threw it at his head while continuing to taunt him.

Being told this story, I sat for a few minutes truly speechless.  I still don't understand how anyone could or would do that to someone. Verbally or physically hurting anyone for any reason is horrible, but to go out of your way to hurt someone you know nothing about physically in such a manner is downright offensive. Just because someone is a little different  doesn't give another person the right to treat them without respect. It hurts to know that there are people out there who live in a state of fear from peoples actions. We need to start respecting everyones differences. Just because we look different doesn't mean we have nothing in common right? We're all human after all.

So this post is dedicated to one, the lady who saw the incident and took action to stop my friend from getting hurt, and to those who spread the love. Though this is a great cause to bring attention to, I hope we won't need to anymore in the future.

Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?
A: I think my favorite characters usually have a great sense of humor or are somewhat sarcastic. I tend to love these characters more because I have a fairly sarcastic personality as well. As far as male characters go, I tend to fall for either the really sweet guys or the mysterious and confident males. What about you all?

Q: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

I'd probably say religious type of books. It's not that I have anything against religion, I just find a lot of them to be a bit preachy and forceful at times. I also find them to be unrealistic a lot of the time. Things just magically seem to work out in the story lines I've come across. However, I am okay with reading spiritual books as long as they have a decent story and aren't making me feel inferior for my beliefs.

Q: What's the craziest thing you've done to get your hands on any particular book?

A: Honestly, my life isn't that exciting. The craziest thing I can think of is probably driving to four different stores to find a copy of a book. Well that or paying a lot more than any book should ever cost, haha. What about all you lovely people?

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don't like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!

A: I get really bothered by smart girls doing dumb things. I'm not saying a character can't make mistakes, but I absolutely hate when a female character is suddenly the dumbest person alive when there's a guy involved. I understand if the character's judgement is clouded by love, but I just want to kick them in the face when they repeatedly do dumb things. I'd rather have the character introduced as a girl who makes questionable choices than her having a good head on her shoulders in the beginning and it all going to crap. What about you guys? Please tell me I'm not the only one who occasionally wants to yell at characters.

Q: What books do you want for Christmas from Santa?

A: Oh man. Why do you guys do this to me? The Future of Us is pretty high on my want list right now. I'm really wanting to finish all the series I've started! The Mortal Instruments, Matched, The Soul Screamers, Intertwined, The Lying Game, Pretty Little Liars and The Iron Fey series. I won't even try to  get started on the other random books I want. What are all of you looking forward to?

Q. What book that hasn’t been turned into a movie (yet) would you most like to see make it to the big screen, and who would you like cast as your favorite character?

That's so hard! I'm always surprised they haven't made a teen Judy Blume book like Summer Sisters. Though it's hard to say who I'd cast for most characters, I'd pick someone kind of like Lucy Hale as Victoria. Not because I have a girl crush on her, but because I think she'd fit that innocent looking type really well. Overall, she can do no wrong in my book.

Q: If you could change the ending of any book (or series), which book would you choose? Why and to what?

A: I'd pick The Hunger Game Series. Without being spoilertastic about it, the ending fell flat for me in some instances(Not for sad parts, but others). I loved the book otherwise, but once I got to the end I just wasn't completed by it.

I know, I know, MORE memes! I'm sorry, but I had to do this one and I swear I'll be making up for this week on the weekend and all of next week. It's been a heavy workload week for me and my blogging time wasn't getting the attention it usually gets. Don't hate me! This new monthly meme is brought to us by the Skype Sisters! Though I only know Amanda at Letters Inside Out, she alone is amazing so you all need to check them out!

My book for this month isn't even up on here until next week, but I thoroughly loved reading it. I'll be giving away a copy of Click: An Online Love Story, so make sure you guys check it out! I won't say too much about it now, but it was a fun storyline and had really fun characters, one of whom you'll meet next week!

Click: An Online Love Story"Fast approaching her 30th birthday and finding herself not married, not dating, and without even a prospect or a house full of cats, Renee Greene, the heroine of Click: An Online Love Story, reluctantly joins her best guy pal on a journey to find love online in Los Angeles. The story unfolds through a series of emails between Renee and her best friends (anal-compulsive Mark, the overly-judgmental Ashley and the over-sexed Shelley) as well as the gentlemen suitors she meets online. From the guy who starts every story with "My buddies and I were out drinking one night," to the egotistical “B” celebrity looking for someone to stroke his ego, Renee endures her share of hilarious and heinous cyber dates. Fraught with BCC's, FWD's and inadvertent Reply to All's, readers will root for Renee to "click" with the right man."

Q. In books like the Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series the paranormal creature in question “comes out of the closet” and makes itself known to the world. Which mythical creature do you wish would come out of the closet, for real?

A: I've been sitting here thinking about it for almost an hour and am no closer to picking just one! This question is evil! One of my random picks would be a Phoenix. I've always imagined them to be graceful yet dangerous if need be. If not that, a trickster would be great to mess with people, haha. Oh...or wait, can I be Alex Mack? Oy...I'll stop.

Q: If you could write yourself a part in a book, what book would it be and what role would you play in that book?

A: Oh man, that's so hard! I know I'd probably be a light-hearted sarcastic character with maybe some deeper story that gets unraveled with time. I say this because I am a really sarcastic person usually, but I take time to let people really get to know who I am. I honestly have no idea what book I would be in though...some cute romantic comedy? Yeah, I'm lame.

Q: Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?)

A: I honestly can't think of just one book that has really impacted me significantly. I like to read and get lost in different worlds for hours/days. In a way, every book impacts me in some way.  One of the first books that I can think of that I ended up really enjoying was Summer Sisters by Judy Blume. It was a simple storyline, but I loved the complexity of the friendship in that book and it's always had me coming back to it over the years.
